Enforce Gun Laws, Not Making New Ones

Getting tough on crime really works!

In 1997, Richmond, VA., striking fear in the hearts of criminals, It was called “Project Exile”, meant zero tolerance for criminal gun use.  No Deals, No Plea-Bargains, No Bail, No Exceptions.  Do a crime with a gun, you’re finished.

It goes like this: A police officer arrest a suspect carrying a gun.  Police officer asked the suspect do you used drugs,i.e. cocaine, heroin, marijuana.  If the answers -”YES”- suspect nailed on a Federal Gun Crime.  Conviction meant mandatory five [5] years in the Federal Prison.

DO NOT PASS GO- DO NOT COLLECT $200 DOLLARS- NO FREE GETTING OUT CARD!

The larger picture is thus:

  • In less then two years, Exile had taken 350 armed felons off the streets.
  • Cut the “gun carry” rate among arrested suspects by half.
  • Cut Richmond’s murder rate by 62 percent.

It’s not surprising that in Rochester, Philadelphia, Fort Worth, San Francisco, Brimingham, and beyond, one city and state after another have used Richmond as a model for their getting tough on criminals.

Project Exile said with merciles certainty that guns are for the Law-Abiding, and it’s proof that getting tough on criminals, not on our rights to own guns, crime will disappear.
