Lets Spend Some Money

This is our hard earn federal tax money being spent by one of the biggest government agency, FEMA.  During a recent audit it was found that KEMA is still squandering tens of millions of tax payers dollars in wasted disaster aid, and to mention 17 million on bogus payments to people who had already been compensated with FREE trailers and apartments.

It was also discovered that another 20 Million given to citizens who claimed the same property damage from both Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. ”Talking about double dipping!”

Looks like that FEMA needs to have an oversight to monitor their spending of our tax money.

Hunters Lossing Access to Property

Each year hunting opportuities are vanishing development taking over lands that once-rural areas.  Farmers and other landowners have either restricted hunting to family members, or banned it altogether.

In states like Pennsylvania, landowners been dropping out of a programs that enrolls private property who permits the public to hunt on them because fear of being sued.

In Sept., a Lehigh County, PA., jury found the owner liable when a hunter on his land fired a shot that struck and critically wounded Casey Kantner who was sitting in her driveway half mile away.  The jury found hunter, Craig Wetzel 90 per cent responsible, and the landowner, Daniel Haas 10 per cent responsible of neligence for the shooting.

The second jury has yet determine monetary damages, the verdict sent ripples through the hunting community.

It’s day late- dollar short for Daniel Hass-a week ago or so, House of Representatives passed H.B. 3007, that would prevent landowners from being held liable for the negligence of hunters on their land, even if someone off the property is harmed.

It unquestionably is a tragedy for anyone injured or killed by a hunter’s stray bullet.  But the greater tragedy would be to make it untanable for owners to open their private property to hunting.
