A suspected burlgar stealthily aproached a home in an area neighbors claim is suffering from increasing crime.  Police say the burglar began removing a window screen, but was seen by the homeowner, NRA Life member Charles Jemeyson, who quickly got his pistol.  “If I had not had my [gun] handy, he would have come into my home,” Jemeyson wrote inan e-mail to the NRA.   “I fired one round …and he went down.  He jumped up and jumped a six foot fence.”  Police found the suspect at a hospital suffering from a gunshot wound.

SARAH NAHMENS AND her mother often discuss personal safety and keep a .32-caliber revolver in their home.  “We’ve always talked about defending yourself and  how important that is,” Nahmens said.  Police say her planning paid off when two men began forcing her door open.   Nahmens quickley retrieved  her gun and pointed it at the door as it flew open.  “It kind of kicked in and I thought, ‘OK, I”ve got to make sure that I’m safe’… It was either going to be more or them and it couldn’t be me,” she explained.  Nahmens fired two shots and the uninjured suspects fled.  “I commend her for protecting hereslf,” said police Capt. Patrick Whitney.  Nahmens said the incident has raised awareness in her normally quiet neighborhood.  Several women have expressed interest in a “girls’ day at the shooting range to practice and learn more about firearms.

WHEN A MAN armed with a gun allegedly kicked in Derrick Murray’s back door and shout that he was a police officer, Murray wasn’t buying it for a second.  “[The suspect and his accomplices outside] were talking in street sland,” Murray explained.  Police say Murray quickly retrieved a semi-automatic rifle and shot the intruder, causing him to flee.  But the story doesn’t stop there.  The intruder ran outside, where he was over by his own getaway car.  The panicked driver then backed up, running over him a second time.  The suspect will face charges pending his release from the hospital.  His two accomplices are being sought.

COINCIDENTALLY, ANOTHER ACT by armed citizenry took place in a Wal-Mart parking lot in March.  In that incident, police say 28-year-old Joshua Eastman was  loading groceries into his vehicle when a teenage thug pointed a gun at him and demanded cash.  The quick-thinking Eastman opened the door to his vehicle to form a barrier between himself and the suspect.  The clever act may have saved his life.  The suspect fired a shot through the door’s window, which narrowly missed Eastman but propelled glass shards into his face.  Eastman, a concealed-carry permit holder, drew his .32-cal. handgun, dropped below the door and shot his assailant three times.  The suspect fled, but police located him nearby.

Arne Duncan won an award from the gun-ban lobby.  The Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence presented Duncan with its “Man of the Year” award in October 2008.  Ducan could not yet accept the award because victory over guns had not yet been achieved.

Arne Duncan can use this office as a bully pulpit to promote repressive gun control as an absolute necessity “for the children.”  That’s what he did as superintendent of Chicago public schools.

Duncan’s solution?  Ban all guns, everywhere.  In the Chicago Tribune on October 14, 2008, he said, ” This is a public health epidemic.  We are struggling to find the cure for AIDS, we are struggling to find the cure for cancer; We know the cure for this public health epidemic -getting rid of guns.”

On April 1, 2008, Duncan as Chicago schools superintendent had students bussed to the state capital in Springfield, at taxpayer expense, as backdrops for the gun control lobbyists.

There is every reason to be concerned that Obama’s Secretary of Education will turn the Deaprtment of Education into a tool to promote a gun – ban agenda in America’s public schools.

EMPLOYEES AT TEXAS Components were stunned when the daughter of an employee entered the business armed with archery tackle and a realistic looking toy gun. Police say the crazed woman drew her bow and fired an arrow into an emplpoyee’s chest, then pointed the fake pistol at others. Fearful for their lives, two employees, both of whom had concealed-carry licenses, drew pistols and shot the woman several times. When the woman pointed an arrow at a responding officer, he shot her once more. The suspect and injured worker were both listed i stable condition at the hospital.

POLICE SAY TWO suspected burglars have been dealt a great deal of punishment. First, a homeowner caught the suspects rifling through his garage. “I asked him what the hell he was doing and he said, ‘Cleaning the garage,”‘ the homeowner recalls. The homeowner ran inside to get a gun, and the suspects fled. Police caught one of the men hiding under a nearby vehicle. His accomplice was arrested after he brazenly broke into a second home. In that incident, the homeowner shot the suspect with a shotgun and held him for police.

 NINETY-YEAR-OLD Berlie Mae Johnson was watching the evening news with her husband when two men burst through the back door. “Be quiet. Don’t say a word. Don’t move!” demanded one of the intruders as he put a gun to her head. “It’s terrible. You expect at any moment …”she said, her voice cracking. “My nerves are shot. He’d probably hve killed me.” But he husband, Charles, age 91, came to the rescue. He grabbed his .38-caliber revolver from under a sofa cushion. One of the intruders fled immediately. “He saw the gun and, boy, he was gone,” Mr. Johnson recalls. The other intruder was still threatening his wife, but a single shot from Johnson’s revolver sent him running. Johnson said he has a message for others: “Be prepared. Keep your doors locked. And be alert.” His wife added, “And have a gun ready.”

AFTER HEARING SEVERAL bumps in the night, Claire Storms woke her husband, NRA Life member Dave Storms. He armed himself with a handgun and approached the noise. a 16-year-old wearing a bandana over his face was in the bathroom. Police said the teen had forcefully entered a window and was stealing money from Dave’s wallet. “Just his eyes were showing,” Storms recalled. “I put the gun on him real quick and I said, ‘Back up and sit down on the pot”‘. The teen sat down and waited for police to arrive, all the while asking to leave and begging not to be shot. Storms said some in the community feared he’d be charged with a crime for defending himself, but he knew he was within his rights. “If it was Washington, D.C., I would be in trouble,” Storms said, adding that his fellow citizens “better vote for people who believe in the Second Amendment and our right to bear arms.”

NRA MEMBER DAVID Johnson was returning from work when he saw something suspicious -the door to his neighbor’s recently vacated home was propped open. He found that his front door, too, was ajar, with a bicycle in the driveway and his dog running loose. Fearing a prowler was in the area, Johnson ran upstairs to get his shotgun. According to police, Johnson found a man ransacking his bedroom. He quickly pointed his shotgun at the intruder and ordered him to the floor. Responding officers arrested the intruder, who was carrying a stolen gun and has a lengthy criminal record. “[The intruder is a] poster boy for Project Exile!’ Johnson wrote in a letter to the NRA.

ACCORDING TO POLICE, several people were trying to pry open the front door to a residence and, with his pregant wife and two children in a back bedroom, the homeowner had just seconds to react. Noting that at least one of the suspects was armed, the homeowner grabbed his shotgun. When the door began to open, the homeowner stuck the barrel of his shotgun into the opening and fired. One suspect fell dead while his accomplices ran from the secene. “[The deceased] was wearing a full beanie and gloves,” said a neighbor. “Those guys come to kill.”

1]    Ban use of firearms for home self-defense.

2]   Pass Federal laws eliminating your Right-to-Carry.

3]   Ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns.

4]   Close down 90% of the gun shops in America.

5]   Ban rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sport shooting.

6]   Increase federal taxes on guns and ammunition by 500 percent.

7]   Restore voting rights for 5,000 criminals including those who have been convicted of ussing a gun to    commit a violent crime.

8]   Expand the Clinton semi-auto ban to include millions more firearms.

9]   Mandate a government-issued license to purchase a firearm.

10] Appoint judges to the U.S. Supreme Court and Federal judiciary who share his views on the Second Admendment.

This is his track record regarding protecting the Second Admendment:

• Statement in his book, The audacity of Hope: “I believe in keeping guns out of our inner cities, and that our leaders must say so in the face of the gun manufactures’ lobby,”
• From 1994-2001, he served on  the board of directors for the anti-gun Joyce Foundation; doled out more than $30 million to control organizaitons with his approval.
• In 1999, during his disasterous run for the U.S. House seat held by Rep. Bobby Rush, Obama unleashed a flurry of gun control proposals.
• In 2003, for example, the Illinois Senate considered S.B. 1195, which was a ban on so-called “semi-auto. assault weapons”. Obama voted for the bill in the Senate Judiciary Committee.
• He has pushed for a one-gun-a-month law in Illinois, something he had advocated in his 1999 congressional campaign.
• In 1999, Obama voted on a bill in the state Senate requiring juveniles 15 years and older to be tried as adults if they were charged with firing guns on or near school grounds.  Obama cast his vote, but he didn’t support or oppose the legislation.  Instead , he voted “present” on the bill.

A LONG-RUNNING feud betwen two Nevada families came to a head a particeipant in the feud entered a bar and grill and began shooting into a crowd of 300 partrons. Police say the gunman killed two brothers and wounded two other people. When he stopped to reload, a partron with a concealed – carry permit saw a chance to intervene. The patron drew his pistol and fired, killing the gunman and preventing furhter bloodshed.

Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels, a member of New York Michael Bloomberg’s anti-gun gang, signed an executive order on Monday, June 9th prohibiting firearms at Seattle Center, parks, community centers, and city-owned buildings.  This ban, which includes Right-to-Carry permit holders, does not require review by the City Council and directs that a plan be drawn-up in thirty days to establish the prohibition.

His ban is a clear violation of Washington State’s preemption statutes that dictate that only the the State Legistature can enact laws pertaining to firearms. 

This is nothing more than a right out attack on the Citizens’ Second Amendment freedoms.

FLORIDA GOV. CHARLIE CRIST signs the Preservation and Protection of the Right to Bear Arms in Motor Vehicles Act.

The new law will protect the rights of Floridians to keep guns locked in their cars at Work and Businesses, and protect their God-given right to self-defense while on the road.

Under this new Law, employers and business owners:

• Cannot search a vehicle for a firearms;
• Cannot ask an employee whether he/she has a firearm or a Right-to-Carry license;
• Cannot prohibit a worker from legally keeping a firearm locked in a vehicle;
• Cannot fire or discriminate against an employee who has a Right-to-Carry license, owns a firearm, stores a firearm locked in a vehicle or uses a firearm lawfully in self-defense;
• Cannot order a customer to leave a parking lot for having a firearm locked in a vehicle.

 More over, since the names of Right-to-Carry license holders are kept confidential under Florida privacy laws, no employer can do an Internet search to see whether you hold a license to carry a gun.

However, this fight is not yet over, Big business have filed a lawsuit in federal court, promising to spend as much as $250,000 to overturn the law that protects your rights from corporate bans on firearms in private vehicles and self-defense.

 Corporate interests do not override the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens. Shrill arguments for property rights or profits must not take precedence over the lives hardworking men and women. An employer’s political philosophy or contempt for firearm rights does not trump a law-abiding person’s fundamental Right to self-protection.

I JUST DIDN’T hesitate,”Cody Buckler explained while recalling an armed invasion of his home. He awoke to the sound of strange voices in the living room. Peering down the hall, he saw two maksed men toting handguns. His girlfriend’s young daughter confronted one of the men, who claimed to be a police officer. Buckler quickly returned to the bedroom for this 12-guage shotgun. Police say he proceeded to the living room, spotted one of the suspects holding his television, and promptly shot him. That suspect fled, but his accomplice charged up the stairs. Buckler shot him, too, causing him to retreat to the basement and exit via a window. The suspects were found seeking treatment for gunshot wounds at the hospital.

WHEN A 51-year-old woman informed a man she didn’t want to be his girlfriend, he committed a series of disturbing acts. Several police reports chronicle the incidents, which include break-ins, vandalism and even assaults at the woman’s workplace. One day she found her home broken into, a clockradio destroyed and undergarments missing. Two days later, she heard breaking glass and called 9-1-1. The entire chilling incident was recorded on 9-1-1 audio. “I’m scared,” she told the operator, who advised her to lock herself in a bedroom. She hid in the closet with a 9 mm pistol loaned to her by a friend. Police say the alleged stalker began kicking in the bedroom door. “What are you doing?” the woman screamed. “Stop ti! Just stop it!” The man burst into the bedroom and began choking her. Gunshots rang out. The woman escaped while her assailant lay mortally wounded.

 EIGHTY-YEAR-OLD Martha Smith says there was no time for fear when her border collie confronted a mountain lion near her home. “I could see the tial twitching, and he was snarling and spitting,” she recalls. Smith shot at the cat withher .22-caliber rifle, but missed, and ran inside to dial 9-1-1. Informed help was a long way off, Smith decided she’d have to deal with the agitated cat herslef. “I shot him in the light spot under his leg where I knew his heart would be,” she explained. “You do what you have to do–you don’t have time to be afraid.” Smith has been versed in riflecraft since adolescence, when she herded sheep on the family ranch. “My sister and I were put on horseback with the lunch, the water canteed and a gun,” she recalls.

Jean was familiar with Trouble, an aptly named pit bull,and rushed to the scene. The dog immediately attacked, viciously bitting Jean’s arms and buttocks.
